Dr. Ester Comellas

Aeronautical Engineer (UPC, 2009). M.Sc. in Advanced Lightweight Structures and Impact (Cranfield University, 2011). Ph.D. in Structural Analysis at the Civil Engineering School of UPC (2016, UPC) and CIMNE collaborator. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Lehrstuhl für Technische Mechanik of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). Her doctoral research consisted in developing constitutive models for growth and remodelling in biological tissues. Her research activity is developed in the field of computational non-linear solid mechanics and constitutive modelling with focus on biomechanical applications. Particular topics of interest, in addition to growth and remodelling, are hyperelasticity, damage, and poro-viscoelasticity in finite-strain problems.
