Seminar - "Computational models for safety in dam engineering", by Antonia Larese
Wednesday, May 9th, 2018. Time: 12h. Place: O.C. Zienkiewicz Conference Room, C1 Building, UPC North Campus, Barcelona. ABSTRACTThis talk presents the formulations developed to simulate rockfill dams in extreme scenarios leading to the structural failure. Both fixed mesh and particle methods have been developed and coupled. The numerical results were validated through the comparison with experiments on small scale dams. SPEAKER CVAntonia Larese is an Associate Research Professor at CIMNE, and Associated Lecturer at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), where she teaches Strength of Materials and Structural Analysis undergraduate courses (2009-present) and Finite Elements master course (2008-present). |
