Rafael Pacheco has graduated in Naval and Maritime Degree in 2014 at the Technical University of Catalonia and completed an MSc in Offshore Engineering in 2015 at the University of Southampton.

During 2016 to 2018, Rafael has undertaken the Master in Numerical Methods in Engineering organised by CIMNE and taught by UPC, which lead to his current position as a Research Engineer at CIMNE combining it with his PhD candidature.

During the past years, Rafael has been able to develop different scientific skills. Nevertheless, he has focused in three major fields which are Naval Engineering, Computer Science and Numerical Methods – currently working in the Naval and Marine Group – and has developed a specific set of skills for commercial scientific programming (Fortran, C++). He also has undertaken various short-courses in the field of Machine Learning.
