CV

Dr. Borja Serván Camas finished his degree in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture in 2002 at the Technical University of Madrid. In 2005 he moved to Baton Rouge (LA), where he pursued his MSc (2007) and Ph.D. (2008) in Civil Engineering at Louisiana State University (USA). He is currently finishing his Ph.D. in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture at the Technical University of Madrid. At present time, he is a full-time Assistant Research Professor at CIMNE, and he has published several articles in high quality JCR journals. The main focus of his current research aims at the development of numerical methods for simulating seakeeping and maneuvering problems.

Since his graduation in 2002, he has been always working in research and development. From 2003 through 2005, he worked in the model basin facilities of the Technical University of Madrid. From 2005 through 2008 he moved to Louisiana State University, where he researched on the development of the lattice Boltzmann method applied to mass transport equations in porous media. Later on, in 2009, he stated working at CIMNE in Barcelona, where he is developing SeaFEM, a state of the art seakeeping and maneuvering software.
