The International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) welcomes Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships applicants!

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships aim to enhance the creative and innovative potential of postdoctoral researchers who wish to acquire new skills through training and international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships will be open to excellent researchers of any nationality.

Postdoctoral candidates are encouraged to review the list of CIMNE research themes and methodologies to identify the research area that align with their interests.

Research themes

  • Adaptation to Climate Change
  • Mobility, Cities, and Territory
  • Energy and Environment
  • Industrial processes
  • Health

Research methodologies

  • Discretization techniques
  • Physical and mathematical models
  • Data driven technologies
  • High performance computational techniques

We invite researchers to submit their expression of interest here. The applications will be managed through the Project Management Office of CIMNE. If you have any questions, please WRITE US! (fellowships@cimne.upc.edu).

Please confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria for this call before applying

  • Supported fellows must be in possession of a doctoral degree before call deadline (11 Sep 2024)

If it sounds good for you, please, write us before 30 April 2024 (internal deadline).

MSCA POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS AT A GLANCE

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are supported by the European Union and carried out in Europe. The scheme also encourages researchers to work on research and innovation projects in the non-academic sector and is open to researchers wishing to reintegrate in Europe, to those who are displaced by conflict, as well as to researchers with high potential who are seeking to restart their careers in research.

Fellowships will be provided to excellent researchers, undertaking international mobility either to or between EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, as well as to non-associated Third Countries. Applications will be made jointly by the researcher and a beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sector.

TYPES OF GRANTS

Postdoctoral Fellowships either can take place in Europe (i.e. in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country) or in a Third Country not associated to Horizon Europe:

  • European Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality who wish to engage in R&I projects by either coming to Europe from any country in the world or moving within Europe. The standard duration of these fellowships must be between 12 and 24 months.
  • Global Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to European nationals or long-term residents who wish to engage in R&I projects with organisations outside EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. These fellowships require an outgoing phase of minimum 12 and maximum 24 months in a non-associated Third Country, and a mandatory 12-month return phase to a host organisation based in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country.

WHAT DOES THE FUNDING COVER?

The financial support for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships includes a living allowance, a mobility allowance, and a family allowance (if applicable). The living allowance is a fixed amount meant to cover the subsistence costs of the fellow during the fellowship. The mobility allowance is meant to cover the expenses related to the fellow's mobility. On the other hand, the family allowance is meant to cover additional expenses incurred by fellows who have family obligations.

The salary conditions of the MSCA are quite competitive in terms of cost of living in Spain.
