The Catalan Health Institute (ICS) has reduced its energy consumption in 4 million euros during 2016, in comparison with the previous year. This information is reflected in the Information Energy System (SIE) implemented at this institution by Inergy, a spin-off of CIMNE. This reduction is mainly due to the actions of energy saving and efficiency, and especially in the execution of various actions of management of supplies.
This is the main conclusion of the Energy Report 2016 for the territories and hospitals of ICS presented by Inergy, supplier of the Energy Information System (SIE) to energy managers of the institute in June 14th, 2017.
The analysis of the billing carried out in the framework of the SIE also allows identifying potential improvements in the management of supplies that would allow a direct potential saving of more than 700,000 euros. Among these measures are the correction of the penalization by reactive energy, the optimization of contracted power and the reduction of unused supplies.
