From 29th to 30th November, 2017, took place the PADRI Workshop in CIMNE Barcelona (Spain). The workshop organized by ECCOMAS, CIMNE and AIRBUS Spain was an Open ECCOMAS Advanced Workshop, held under the auspices of the E-CAero2 project and the European Commission.
The activity, initially promoted by the Industrial Interest Group of ECCOMAS, contributed to find candidate flow control technologies and optimization strategies that can minimize shock wave and interference drag in the strut-wing junction region in cruise condition. The test case and the workshop attracted 5 teams from around the world; Chile, China, Romania and US (2), making the technical discussions really interesting and fruitful.
As one of the main final conclusions, the organizers decided to organize a new edition of the workshop, with a revisited test case, for the next year 2018.
