Altair Engineering, Inc. is looking for smart, energetic, and self-motivated software development engineers to join our staff.

This is a full-time salaried position with competitive pay and benefits. The position is ideal for candidates with strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of Python and C/C++ programming, and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.

This position is a unique opportunity to work with developers and users of advanced CFD/CAE/CAD technology in a leading commercial software company. The position’s primary role is to develop codes in Hyperworks CFD, A GUI-based pre-processing technology with 3D graphics and visualization. The position also requires assisting Q/A, developing tutorials, and customizing and automating solutions for specific applications.

Requirements:

• M.S. Computer Science, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
• C++ and Python programming
• Graphics development with OpenGL or other SceneGraph type frameworks.
• Experience with GUI development
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Strong computer skills using Linux and Windows operating systems

The following skills are a plus:

• Basic knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• Experience with CAD modeling software
• Knowledge of visualization software such as Paraview, Hyperview.
• Knowledge of Structural analysis and Finite Element Method
• Programming using Qt
