Functions to be developed:

The research involves the study and the numerical modelling of the thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) behaviour of argillaceous rocks and other clayey materials. It includes

• constitutive and code development
• applications to engineering problems
• contribution to the worldwide discussion of the work
• scientific dissemination of results

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative candidate. Ideally, the candidate should hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Applied Mathematics or other relevant fields.

• Excellent academic record
• Background in numerical methods and continuum mechanics and Geomechanics subjects
• Programming skills
• Good working knowledge of English, both written and spoken

Other valued skills (not mandatory):

• Previous experience in research
• Good communication skills, written and oral

Qualification system:

The requisites and merits will be evaluated with a maximum note of 100 points. Such maximal note will be obtained summing up the following points:

• Academic record: 20%
• Previous research and academic background in the field of the position: 35%
• Programming skills: 15%
• Language skills: 15%
• Communication/Teaching skills: 5% 
• Personal interview: 10%
