Alessandro Franci, Post Doc at CIMNE, has been awarded a Premio SEMNI with his PhD thesis entitled “Unified Lagrangian formulation for fluid and solid mechanics, fluid-structure interaction and coupled thermal problems using the PFEM”. Prof. Eugenio Oñate and Dr. Josep Maria Carbonell have been the directors of this PhD thesis. This is the second award for Franci, that has already received a Premi Pioner 2015.
The Executive Commission of the Sociedad Española de Métodos Numéricos en Ingeniería (SEMNI) awarded the prize “ex aequo” together with that given to Héctor Espinoza’s PhD thesis ("Wave Propagation Problems with Aeroacoustic Applications"), directed by the full research professors at CIMNE, Ramon Codina y Santiago Badia.
The prize consists of an accrediting diploma and 500 euros. It will be awarded during the Congreso de Métodos Numéricos en Ingeniería 2017, that will be held in Valencia from 3rd to 5th July, 2017.
