Prof. Jacques Periaux, elected a Member for Section 2 of the IAA

Prof. Jacques Periaux has been elected a Member for Section 2 – Engineering Sciences of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA).

Prof. Jacques Periaux is a recognized expert in the field of numerical methods applied to aerospace engineering. Since 2009 professor Periaux holds the Unesco Chair of Numerical Methods in Engineering established at CIMNE. His research interests include Parallel Evolutionary Computing, Game Strategies and Hybridized Methods for Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) problems and the Greening of Aircraft and UAVs Systems.

Prof. Jacques Periaux’s contributions have resulted in a significant increase in the RTD activities of CIMNE in the aerospace sector, in particular with academic organizations and industry in China, the organization of numerous training courses, exchanges with leading scientists worldwide and several RTD projects at international level.

Other recognitions

In 2010, he received in Beijing the National Award from Foreign Affairs for long cooperation with China and was elected, in 2011, a Corresponding member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA).
