How Biocell can contribute to improve this situation??

BIOCELL project wishes to bring about a revolution in house building, but one where the stimulus for improvement comes from the successful marrying of customer preferences coupled with advanced design and manufacturing capabilities. Where current initiatives in modern house building fail is in trying to automate a traditional process that adheres obsessively to outmoded industrial practices that are at best uncompetitive and at worst dirty, dangerous and of doubtful quality.

From a energetic and environmental point of view:

    - Pre-engineered processes lead to resources and design control and, therefore, to energetic savings and minimisation of CO2 emission
    - Industrialisation of Renewable Energy Systems leads to optimisation, since the integrated design and the standardisation guarantees its efficiency
    - Possibility to reuse the different components, as they could be de-constructed and material-separated and, therefore, recycled at factories

Furthermore, STEDI can read most of the design files of the commercial CAD applications. Alternatively, the building design can be directly introduced by the user by means of the user friendly graphical browser (GiD)

Considering the market acceptance aspects:

    - The pre-designed integrated components and the new design methodology may contribute to the assimilation and implementation of the bioclimatic concepts within the early stage of building process definition
    - Integration in the constructive systems and pre-engineering of RES could be a way to implant them in the building sector and to create a critical mass in this sector

These contributions lead to the basic concept of this project: To achieve Energy efficient buildings through industrialisation and integration of Renewable Energy Systems
