   Inier

The Interdisciplinary Institute for Environmental Research (INIER) is a non-profit Organisation for the Environment and Sustainable Development, founded in 1994. It is directed by a three-member Board of Directors who refers to the Members' General Assembly.

INIER claims the legacy of the Society for Ecology and Development (SED), a non-profit organisation operated during the period 1984-1994. During these years, both SED and INIER have carried out many projects on the above-mentioned areas, financed by the EU, the Greek Government, Local Authorities and private sector. At the same time they have participated in numerous projects of international co-operation among NGOs, in EU, Mediterranean and Balkan countries.

INIER is registered in the NGOs Official Record kept by the International Development Co-operation Agency of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its actions do not limit only in to Greek territory, but extends to Mediterranean, to Balkan countries and to the countries of Black Sea. INIER collaborates with scientists and researchers of various expertises, from Universities, environmental organisations and private companies.
