   Elbe River Study Case

Study of a section of the Elbe River between Wehningen and Strachau (approximated length 5.5 km, Elbe-km 512.5-518). Analysis was preformed using the program CARPA developed by UPC including hydrodynamic and bedload transport modules. The hydraulic parameters used for the simulation were, a hydrograph varying from 900 to 1500 cubic meters per second during 12 h.

The initial condition of the River corresponds to the water levels achieved for a stationery conditions with a discharge of 707 m3/s. For bedload transport was used the Meyer-Peters & Müller formula, considering for river bed conditions values that were approximated from data provided by experts.
