   Po Delta study case

The analysis was performed using the Plascon3D research code developed at the Department of Structural and Transportation Engineering, Padua (Italy), and at CISM, Udine (Italy), dealing with coupled thermo-hygro-mechanical compaction/subsidence analyses within a saturated (locally partially saturated) porous medium subjected to external loads and water/gas withdrawals from deep layers (aquifers/reservoirs).

The elastic module of the sandy and clayey layers are 8.2 105 and 1.3 104 t/m2 with Poisson's coefficients of 0.25 and 0.45, respectively. A settlement evolution was imposed on specific nodes representing topographic benchmarks whose altimetric data were collected by experts.
